Review Copies To Give Away -The One That Got Away

The mailman brought me books this morning, though not ordinary books. They’re ARCs. Advance Uncorrected Proofs. Not For Sale. They’re definitely not for sale, apparently. It says so right on the cover, which is a bit disconcerting because having them for sale is a major part of the master plan. Not for sale. Shudder. But I’m rolling with it.

I do know that this is the first time I’ve ever received ARCs for a Category Romance. Go KISS! I’m liking you a lot already. And the Dear Bookseller blurb is kinda heady.

‘Hunter excels at creating a place and characters that are so contemporary (handy, since I’m not writing historicals), so real and so three dimensional that you’ll feel you’re sharing Evie’s and Logan’s lives. She writes with an intense chemistry that will keep you riveted from beginning to end.’

Nice.

There’s also a well-chosen excerpt (that I did not choose) that plays beautifully to theme – because there’s a lot of power play in this story, and the exchange of it is a wild and thorny endeavour. Here’s the excerpt:

‘I like you, Logan, in case you hadn’t noticed. Baggage and all. It wouldn’t be a hardship to spend another week with you. Might even be fun.’

“As opposed to…’

‘Intense, confusing and ultimately heartbreaking. I’d like to think that we have enough experience between us now to keep those elements out of play.’

‘You don’t like intense?’

‘You’re right. There’s a lot to be

said for intensity. That one can stay.’

‘You calling the shots now, Evie?’

‘Only some of them. Feel free to voice your requirements too.’

‘I want exclusivity,’ he said.

‘The feeling’s mutual.’

‘And freedom.’

‘I’ll do my freely exclusive best.’

‘Obedience.’

‘And sometimes you’ll get it.’ Evie edged closer, elbows to the table – so much for manners. ‘You don’t want to dominate me completely, remember? Or am I wrong about that?’

‘Just keep reminding me when I forget.’

I have half a dozen of these ARC copies to give away to romance bloggers/category romance readers. Let me know in the comments section if you’re interested in reading the story and I’ll get back to you.  I do have the caveat that if you do decide to review the story in Blogland that you hold off until closer to the Feb ’13 release date.

If you still need some reviewers, I would love to help. Definitely looking forward to reading.

    • Thanks for your interest, Danielle. But they’ve all gone. Which is great, or not, depending on your pov…

  2. I may habve a couple more to give away still. Just waiting on everyone I’ve already said yes to to get back to me. Regardless, a big Thank You everyone who has offered to read it.

  3. It sounds great! If there are any copies left and you’re willing to send internationally, I’d love one…

    Hi Kelly,

What a fab exerpt – I can already feel the tension between these two! I’m a UK based reader/aspiring writer, and I’ve loved every book of yours I’ve read. I’m late to this party, but wanted to pop by anyway. Can’t wait for this one to come out!

    Hey,

Am always keen on getting ARCs.. *winks* Is it for international readers too??
I review for two book websites but only the books they give me.. If it is okay, I would review it on my personal blog..

    Let me know.. :)

  7. Hello Kelly

Would love the chance to read, and review. Otherwise please keep me up-dated on when the book is out to buy, I live in the UK so I’m hoping I can buy here and get it shipped over. **Fingers Crossed**

Although it looks like you have enough reviewers but if not I’d love the chance. I’m the only reviewer for my site- http://www.bookaholicanon.com and also post on Goodreads and Amazon.

  9. Me, me, me, me, me!

I mean, you know, I’m cool with it. So long as you’re okay to send these out internationally, I’d love one.

    • Ros, happy to send you one.

    • Wow. That… was not what I was expecting. I liked it a lot, but I also have thoughts about it. I’m going to try to remember to re-read and review it nearer the release date.

      • Kelly Hunter

It’s definitely an outlier amongst the regular KH body of work. Come Feb next year I’m going to go live in a cave for a month ;)
